Dominic Shimmin (Dundee) - St Joseph’s (Dockhead)

Signed for Scottish League side Dundee in June 2010 after two years at Greenock Morton which had followed 3 years at Queens Park Rangers where he made four first team appearances following his transfer from the Arsenal Academy. The first Bermondsey and Rotherhithe Primary Schools FA player to play League football since the association reformed in 1993. Dominic also played twice on loan at League One side AFC Bournemouth, in December 2007 and finished the 2007/8 season at Crawley Town in the Nationwide Conference.

 

Matthias Fanimo (West Ham United) – Redriff

Signed as a first year scholar with West Ham United after coming through the age groups at their famed Academy. Represented England at both Under 16 level – where he was part of two successful Victory Shield campaigns - and now at Under 17 level where he played every game in the squads Nordic Tournament victory in August 2010.

Darren Behcet (AFC Hornchurch) – Pilgrim’s Way

Joined Ryman Premier League side AFC Hornchurch in January 2009, after a short spells at Conference South clubs Bognor Regis Town and Fisher Athletic, and Ryman League sides Maldon Town and Sutton United during the first half of the 2008/9 season. Formerly had a two year spell, without a league appearance, at League One side Yeovil Town from where he spent four months on loan to Conference South side Dorchester Town during 2007/8. Previously on the books of West Ham United from where he played on loan for Cambridge United in the Conference.

 

Danny Waldren (Croydon Athletic) - Grange

Graduated through the youth team ranks at Croydon Athletic and made first team captain for 2008/9 season, regularly finding the back of net from midfield for the Rams whilst helping the side in gaining promotion from the Ryman League South to the Ryman Premier.

 

Ikenna Ofoche (Windsor & Eton) – Alfred Salter

Signed for the Zameretto Premier League side after leaving Millwall, where as a scholar he made regular appearances for the Under 18 Youth Team between the 2007/8 and 2009/10 seasons as well as appearing for the reserve team during that spell.

 

Ellis Wilson-Joseph (Dulwich Hamlet) – St John’s

Made his debut in the first team in the second part of the 2009/0 season after coming through the clubs Aspire Academy

 

Joe O’Rourke (CW Post Pioneers –USA) – St John’s

Having left Millwall’s Academy where he played for the Lions in the FA Youth Cup at the end of the 2006/7 season is currently at Long Island University in America and was voted East Coast Conference Rookie of the year last season.

 

A number of more recent players are currently in younger age groups at Academies and Centres of Excellence at both Professional and Semi Professional level across London and the Home Counties.
